Cyber Security

What is cyber security

Cyber security refers to the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect the integrity of networks, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access.

It is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks.

  • Why cyber security is required

After invention of electronic devices, due to their usability , ease to use, automation there use in our daily life increases exponentially. That’s why we started to became more dependent on these devices like computer, Mobile phones , tablet etc which contains private information .That’s why  we are becoming more vulnerable to cyber threats.

That’s why cyber security plays a crucial role in defending against such threats and with increase in our dependency on digital devices the scope of cyber security increases.

  • Elements of cyber security

The vulnerability of human interactions with the information systems can be easily exploited to launch a scathing cyber attack. A better understanding of the elements of cyber security will cause the information managers to get over their mis-guided sense of invincibility and plug the loopholes bringing about a malicious attack.

  • Network security
  • Disaster recovery
  • Operational security
  • End-user education

One of the most problematic elements of cyber security is the constantly evolving nature of security risks. The traditional approach has been to focus resources on crucial system components and protect against the biggest known threats, which meant leaving components undefended and not protecting systems against less dangerous risks.

To deal with the current environment, advisory organizations are promoting a more proactive and adaptive approach. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), for example, recently issued updated guidelines in its risk assessment framework that recommend a shift toward continuous monitoring and real-time assessments.

  • Types of cybersecurity threats

The process of keeping up with new technologies, security trends and threat intelligence is a challenging task. However, it’s necessary in order to protect information and other assets from cyberthreats, which take many forms.

  • Denial-of-service (DoS) and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
  • Man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack.
  • Phishing and spear phishing attacks.
  • Drive-by attack.
  • Password attack.
  • SQL injection attack.
  • Cross-site scripting (XSS) attack
  • Eavesdropping attack

  • THE FUTURE OF CYBER SECURITY

At the unit for info security at Combitech, a couple of people have had the chance to undertake to seem into the longer term and gain an image of what our branch are going to be like in one, 3 or 10 years.

The number of IT systems, cloud services and connected devices is continually increasing, and it’s currently believed that the amount of connected systems particularly can explode inside a couple of years. of these systems and devices generate implausibly giant volumes {of info|of data|of knowledge} (this is what we tend to decision huge Data) and every one this information  should  be protected in a way.

But, you may be thinking, not all info is equally sensitive from a confidentiality perspective, that is entirely correct, however it may be sensitive from the angle of correctness; we would like to be able to suppose the knowledge not being altered. It additionally also can even may also may be sensitive from the traceability perspective; we tend to also wish to be ready to suppose data returning from the required supply.
